Caterpillar Curl

Roe Osborn

The COVID-19 pandemic brought with it a sense of fear and introspection, as well as the challenge to look at life from a whole new perspective, and to use this adversity to create positive changes in our personal lives. The past year has been one full of growth and changes in every aspect of my life. Caterpillar Curl literally curls tightly inside itself, reflecting that sense of introspection. But the HDPE pipe allows the viewer to look through that tension clearly to the other side. The sculpture stands completely balanced and anchored firmly in place, and invites interaction. Viewers can physically pass through the sculpture (safely!) as we all look to emerge from these incredibly difficult times.
